Our animal health care teams will offer education, advice and care to ensure your pet has the longest, happiest and healthiest life possible. We welcome you to bring your pet to meet our team at anytime.
Alex joined the Veterinary team at Moss Vale Vet in early 2016. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 1989 and after some time working in various practices in Canberra and Sydney.
In 2004 Alex and her family relocated to the Southern Highlands. Even after 28 years, Alex still thoroughly enjoys all aspects of veterinary practice.
In her leisure time Alex enjoys spending time with her husband David and their teenagers Zac and Anneliese. Most weekends are spent attending horse events, cricket or rugby games. Ideally Alex would love to spend more time bushwalking and tending to their native garden with her dogs Olive, Roly and Sally the cat.
Marea graduated from the University of Sydney in 1990 and since then has been working as a vet within the Southern Highlands. Marea first joined Moss Vale Vet in 2010 and has a keen interest in internal medicine, particularly cats, as well as Animal Behaviour; offering solutions to our clients that require assistance with a wide scope of behavioural concerns.
In her spare time, Marea enjoys camping, gardening, and bushwalking. Marea and her husband Rodger have just returned from a long 2 year hiatus travelling and camping across Australia, seeing some amazing locations along the way. Needless to say, we are excited to have her back as part of the team.
James graduated from the University of Sydney in 2001 after having already completed a Business degree, he decided that Vet was his passion. James has a keen interest in cytology and internal medicine and has an overall love and passion for the industry in total.
James was the previous owner of our clinic and after a very well deserved break, he has returned back to the clinic on a part-time basis. In his spare time, James enjoys managing and visiting his family's farm, gardening and spending time with his wife Vivienne and daughter Amelia.
Jess has been a Qualified Nurse and with Moss Vale Vet since 2012. Shortly after she gained the skills for reception, making her a fantastic all-rounder!
Jess is always looking to improve her skills and knowledge, as a result is an excellent teacher to the new staff and work experience students. She is currently completing her Diploma in Leadership and Management.
Away from work, Jess loves to travel and has become a great baker, often bringing in tasty and stunning looking cakes and treats for us to test...Ma king it impossible for any successful dieting at the clinic!
Jess can fully understand the challenges of owning “Houdini” pets, as her 8 year old escape artist Border Collie, Bonnie, certainly keeps her on her toes. She also has an 8 year old Tabby Cat, Minnie now 10 years old (her favourite fur child) and has recently acquired a staffy x boxer x Bull Arab named Tucker who is currently 6 months old and is making her houdini Border Collie look like a saint.
Monique joined the team in 2010 after moving to Australia from New Zealand where she was pre-training race horses. Unfortunately, due to a fall from a horse and a fractured vertebrae Monique temporarily hung her saddles up and did some travelling before landing in Australia.
Since then Monique has become a Qualified Veterinary Nurse and is very passionate about your pet’s wellbeing and comfort (she can make the comfiest pet bed you've ever seen).
You may even be able to sense Monique’s presence at the clinic - just listen out for her singing to her favourite 80's hits, or the smell of her favourite morning tea snack - boiled eggs!
When not at work Monique is spending time with her partner Bill, her daughter and four grandkids, who have just moved from New Zealand to be closer to her, and certainly know how to keep her busy!
Monique also enjoys the company of her rescue Maltese Terrier X, Blackie, and Keith, her young Blue Heeler X, who keeps her on her toes with his puppy mischief!
Erika has been a Qualified Vet Nurse and with Moss Vale Vet since 2012. She is very much a quiet achiever and has a very keen eye for detail, making her a fantastic nurse. Erika enjoys the many boarding cats we see here and is often behind the lovely photos and texts you may receive whilst your pet is with us. She also does a wonderful job managing our Facebook page and making sure we are always posting, especially about our wonderful patients that have come to visit us.
Erika has a great sense of humor and can keep the staff laughing even during stressful times. When not at work she is spending time with Roy her very spoilt and lovable Bull Arab. Erika has also just recently adopted a 17-year-old shelter cat.
We all believe that if we were to come back reincarnated as a dog, we would like to come back as a dog owned by Erika.
Tessa first joined our team as a trainee vet nurse in December 2018 whilst enrolled in Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. Tess recognized she could build a career around caring for animals, which has always been a passion of hers. Making fast improvement in her nursing abilities, Tess joined us as our permanent Sunday nurse in May 2019.
Tess ensures that our boarding patients receive lots of TLC over the weekend, and also frequents as a kennel hand at DOGUE boarding kennels when not in the clinic - so has plenty of experience in making your beloved pets feel as much at home as possible.
Tess is also the proud companion of Charlie, a 9-year-old cheeky jug and a 4-year-old rescue cat called Yeezy. When not at the clinic Tess enjoys taking Charlie on adventures and traveling.
Chloe started her career in veterinary nursing in 2016 and joined our team in January 2020. Not only is Chloe a Vet Nurse and Receptionist, she also runs our Puppy Preschool classes at the clinic. Chloe has known she wanted to work with animals since a very young age, as she grew up helping her dad with all the farm animals which she loved! They included sheep, chickens, a pig named Belinda, rabbits and ducks. Chloe currently has a one-eyed cat named Bran, and loves going back to her parents to see the farm animals and their two dogs, Hazel and Tucker.
Chloe loves to keep busy by filling her spare time with outdoor activities (scuba diving and hiking), martial arts, yoga, and occasionally volunteering at the free vet clinics for homeless people and their pets. She also enjoys all things art, from painting, drawing with charcoal and graphite, she even has a special passion for tattooing!
